President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva visited the park laid out in memory of Turkan residents perished in the Great Patriotic War, May 9.


President and his spouse laid a wreath on the monument here. Works are continued in the park. Sport-entertainment centers, rest corners will be created here.

 

Veterans gathered in the park warmly welcomed President and his spouse. Sincerely meeting with each of veterans President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva congratulated them on the holiday, took interest in their problems.

 

Veterans said they always feel big respect to national leader Heydar Aliyev, honor his blessed memory. They highly valued works done by Mrs Aliyeva as MP to reconstruct Turkan, thanked her, said they had declared her honor resident of the settlement. Veterans said they approve purposeful policy of President Ilham Aliyev on settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, underlined their children and themselves are always ready to go to the war by the order of Supreme Chief Commander.

 

Applying to the veterans of the most terrible war in the history President Ilham Aliyev said:

 

Turkan has specific history, people. It is very ancient place, very native at the same time. That is why we are trying to intensify here reconstruction works. Construction of the school started today, other works of reconstruction will be done, park will be set. And I request you to take care of yourself, be brave, because Azerbaijan needs you, your heroism, experience is lesson for future generations. We pay great attention to training of youth in patriotic soul and you are best sample to them in this.

 

Veterans, residents expressed gratitude to President of Azerbaijan and First Lady for coming to the settlement on this remarkable day, attending opening of establishments they were waiting for so long, care and attention shown to reconstruction of the settlement with more than 10,000 residents, expressed best wishes.
