President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Republican Secondary Boarding School for blind and visually impaired children in Narimanov district of Baku

On 28 December, President of the Heydar Aliyev Fund, UNESCO Good Will Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Boarding School for visually impaired children in Narimanov district of Baku.


Mehriban Aliyeva `s joining the festivity held here on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis solidarity Day and the coming New Year made children really happy. In honor of the esteemed guest, they demonstrated their artistic talents.


Congratulating the children on the Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and wishing them a Happy New Year, Mehriban Aliyeva said in particular: I liked your performance very much. You have welcomed me so warmly, with so much love. Thank you. I love you all too. I promise, we`ll do meet more often next year.


After that Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva viewed classrooms, small printing office, a hostel, as well as familiarized herself with drawings and embroideries of talented children and their achievements in republican sport competitions.


She was informed that founded in 1936, this boarding school has very good conditions for the children to acquire various skills and knowledge, and that 266 children are currently studying here. Twenty five out of a hundred teachers are first-group invalids, 130 students live in the hostel, while others are taken home after classes.


Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva presented Braille papers, textbooks, tapes and writing materials for blind and visually impaired children as well as other holiday gifts to the school.
