President Ilham Aliyev attends the opening of the Child Creativity Centre in Shamakhy

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Child Creativity Centre constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Shamakhy, May 16.

The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolising the official opening of the Centre.

It was informed that this art establishment had been functioning as a music school since 1959. And in 1995, the Child Art School was created on the basis of this school. Since 1984, the school had functioned in a building fallen into disrepair. 70 teachers work and 384 pupils are taught in this education establishment consisting of eleven sections. As the building had not been basically repaired for many years, it had fallen into complete disrepair and demolished. A new three-storied modern building has been built at the same address for the Child Creativity Centre of Shamakhy, following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The Head of State viewed the photo stand devoted to the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In an exhibition-composition presented on the theme of “Azerbaijan in the past centuries and today”, samples of ancient and contemporary architecture, as well as national cultural and household traditions are demonstrated.

A corner devoted to well-known persons of culture at the Child Creativity Centre is rich in exhibits related to their life and artistic activity. Wide-scale improvement works have been done in the area of location of the Centre, a lot of trees and shrubs planted and all necessary infrastructure created.

It was noted that in general 54 study, two make-up, two painting, two dance rooms and other subsidiary rooms, an assembly hall and an exhibition hall has been created here. Lessons on tar, kamancha, piano and other music subjects will be taught here. Classrooms and other subsidiary rooms have been provided with up-to-date equipment. State-of-the-art electricity and heating systems have been installed at the building. All conditions have been created in the school’s assembly hall to hold various events.

President Ilham Aliyev listened to the overture from the “Koroghlu” Opera by Uzeir Hajibeyli performed by the Popular Musical Instruments Orchestra of the Child Creativity Centre.
