Holiday gifts are given to over 165 thousand low-income families following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative
Holiday gifts are distributed to low-income families by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the occasion of the 31st December – the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year. Being implemented following the initiative of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, the project covers all families receiving addressed social aid all over the country.
Holiday gifts from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with various foodstuff started to be delivered as of December 23, to families receiving social aid in all districts and cities(towns) of the republic.
Holiday gifts from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will be delivered to over 165 thousand families within the framework of the project.
Initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the action has been implemented with support from the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Foundation calls on other organizations and companies to joint this initiative. Entities willing to participate in this large-scale action may contact the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation (phone: 012 505 0 150).
Moreover, holiday tables will be arranged, following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, in 12 districts of Baku – Binagadi, Narimanov, Nasimi, Nizami, Pirallahy, Garadagh, Sabunchu, Sabail, Surakhany, Khatai, Khazar and Yasamal, Ganja city, and other regions of the republic, for orphans, and thousands of people in need of aid, and gifts will be distributed.
First such holiday table was arranged in Garadagh district on December 23, which covered some 500 people.
Head of Garadagh district Executive Authority Suleyman Mikayilov congratulated participants of the event, held at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, on the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year holidays. He underscored the significance of such events, annually arranged by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the district, in terms of the population’s social protection.
Bringing to attention that a series of social objects were constructed and basically repaired at the initiative of the Foundation in the district, Suleyman Mikayilov said all this was a constituent part of the socially oriented policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov said in his speech that holiday gifts of the Foundation with various foodstuff started to be delivered, as of December 23, to families receiving social aid in all districts and cities (towns) of the republic. Saying that the project has been jointly implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Regional Development Public Union, founded by the Foundation, Anar Alakbarov emphasized the great support provided to the action by the State Oil Company, and expressed a hope other organizations too would join this action to support the project.
Anar Alakbarov conveyed congratulations of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva on the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year to the participants of the event.
It was mentioned that, having been operating since 2004, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been actively participating in the civil society building and implementing various projects, state programmes aiming at social and economic development of the country. Among these projects, the spheres of science, education, healthcare and social security are attached special importance. Projects aiming at solution of education, healthcare and other problems facing children deprived of parental care, elderly inhabiting nursing homes, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, refugees and IDP families, martyr’s families, people in need of special care have always been under the Foundation’s control. From this standpoint, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation regularly holds charitable actions to facilitate integration of children deprived of parental care, those in need of special care into the society, and to help in arranging their leisure in an efficient fashion. The Foundation holds, each year, New Year and Novruz festivities for children distinguished in education, those being educated at children’s homes and boarding schools, children from refugee and IDP families, sends holiday gifts, at Gurban and Ramadan Holidays, and other significant days, to children’s homes, boarding schools, nursing homes and low-income families, and arranges concert programmes and entertainment events. All these projects implemented aim to cover citizens with comprehensive care, and improving social welfare thereof.
It was informed that this large-scale project, implemented on the eve of the 31st December – the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year, signifies, along with being a holiday gift by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, also calls families to solidarity around a holiday table.
Speaking on behalf of the Garadagh district’s general public, district’s elder Allahverdi Mammadov talked about projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the country. He said the Foundation has implemented a number of projects in Garadagh district, always taking care of orphans and elderly in particular, and constructed education and healthcare institutions. The district’s elder thanked the Foundation’s leadership for bestowing joy upon low-income families at today’s event.
Speaking on behalf of the Russian community in Garadagh, Lyubov Ryabtsova expressed delight in living in Azerbaijan, where a multicultural and tolerant environment dominates. Underscoring peaceful coexistence of representatives of all nationalities and religions as in all corners of the republic, in Garadagh too, Lyubov Ryabtsova thanked Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for the high-level care and attention shown towards them.
Then, the event went on around a holiday table. Low-income families were presented holiday gifts by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
