On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Khojali tragedy, on behalf of the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, a wreath was laid at the monument Call of Motherland

On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Khojali tragedy, on behalf of the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, a wreath was laid at the monument Call of Motherland in Baku.


The day before, the representatives of the Foundation visited teachers and students of the Khojali secondary school No 2 located in Pirshaga suburb of Baku.

 

After the victims of the tragedy were commemorated with a minute of silence, Executive Director of the Foundation Anar Alakbarov, expressed them sympathy and condolences on behalf of the President of the Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.

 

Deputy chairman of the State Committee for working with Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Sahib Rahimov and Head of the Executive Power of Khojali district Shahmar Usubov noted addressing the meeting participants that the international community is becoming more aware of what really happened in Khojali, and stressed that Armenians` crimes against the Azerbaijani people would not remain unpunished.

 

After the ceremony, the representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation viewed the school, and promised the Foundation would provide assistance in creating necessary conditions for the schoolchildren for the most talented of them could develop their abilities.
