President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a sports complex in Zira settlement

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a modern sports complex built in Zira Settlement, May 9.


She was informed that construction of the complex commenced, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in October of 2011. Construction works have been carried out by local and foreign specialists, under supervision of AFFA and FIFA. Sport halls, study rooms, training equipment and the pitch conform to the FIFA standards.


There are chess, chequers, boxing, wrestling and training rooms, referee and physician rooms, sanitary rooms, as well as a language laboratory for teaching English and French  languages.


The First Lady familiarized herself with rooms designed to teach the English and French languages, viewed the coach rooms, training, wrestling and boxing rooms. It was informed, during the acquaintance with computer rooms, that young people here would get connected to the Internet through 3 thousand-meter fibre and optical cable, and use the data network and ADSL modem.


The First Lady familiarized herself with chess, chequers rooms. The rooms have been equipped with special monitors,  and computers provided with special software.


The second floor of the building will have a VIP room, a VIP platform to watch football games, a winter garden – vestibule, a specially designed working room for guests, as well as administrative rooms.


The First Lady familiarized herself with the VIP room, viewed from the platform the football pitch laid with special grass cover conforming to international standards.


Electronic panel, amplifiers and cabs for commentators have been installed at the stadium. With over 1500 seats, four 28-meter high floodlight blocks will illuminate the pitch. The top of the hall has been covered with special type of membrane tent.


Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was informed that a separate building has been built at the complex with doping control, physician, coach, trainer, referee, massage and washing rooms, and a conference room.
