President Ilham Aliyev attends inauguration of a chess school in Ujar

On October 30, President Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of a chess school constructed following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative in Ujar.

 

It was informed that, constructed in the form of a chess composition, the chess school’s area is 820 square metres. Entrance of the building is shaped as a pawn, surrounded by rook figures, with the central part resembling the figure of a king.

 

Being one-storied, the school has five study rooms, one computer room, and service rooms. Area of the school’s games hall is 210 square metres. 140 pupils may play chess in the hall at a time. A special monitor has been installed to watch games live.

 

The study rooms here have been provided with necessary equipment to ensure that pupils can master secrets of chess. A separate computer room has been created for mastering electronic knowledge and up-to-date know-how.

 

Greenery was laid in the school’s territory and up-to-date illumination system installed.

 

President Ilham Aliyev talked with Khatun Baghyrova, who took the first place in the world championship held in April this year among the 14-year-old and won the title of a world champion.
