Heydar Aliyev Foundation awarded Intellect-2008 Prize for the best project of the year

Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been awarded the Intellect-2008 Prize for the best project of the year. Instituted by ITMagazine, the ICT magazine, the prize was awarded for the project on creation of the Gala Archeological-Ethnographic Museum Complex performed by Heydar Aliyev Foundation in 2008.


To safeguard monuments at the Gala History-Ethnography State Preserve, enrich the preserve with archeological findings discovered in Absheron the first outdoor archeological-ethnographic museum complex was created at the preserve in October 2008 due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The museum complex itself is 2 hectares in area and stores rock paintings, weapons, ceramics, jewelry and other unique exhibits dating back to a period from 3rd and 2nd millennium BC to the Middle Ages. The project which envisages preservation of the historical past of Azerbaijan will turn the country into one of the world’s most attractive tourism centers.
