The Heydar Aliyev Foundation developed an album dedicated to the life and creativity of Alibaba Mammadov, an outstanding representative of the music culture of Azerbaijan
Album dedicated to life and creativity of Alibaba Mammadov, outstanding representative of music culture of Azerbaijan, has been developed by Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The album is consisted of a book and 4 CDs containing folk songs, tesnifs and mughams performed by the singer.
Published in Azerbaijani and English the book is opened with Decree of February 4, 2000 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev ‘On awarding Order ‘Shohret’ to Alibaba Mammadov’. The second page includes the letter of congratulations the national leader addressed to the singer. Sincerely congratulating Alibaba Mammadov on his 70th anniversary the great leader highly valued his creativity and wished him success in raising the new generation of singers and developing the mugham school.
The publication is rich with photographs reflecting meetings of Alibaba Mammadov with national leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.
Detailed information is presented in the book about life and creativity of Alibaba Mammadov. According to the book, repertoire of the singer was mainly consisted of mughams Rast, Bayati-Shiraz, Deshti, Rahab, Chahargah and Humayun. Humayun Folk Musical Instruments Band created by A.Mammadov played big role in formation of aesthetic taste of our people with its rich and colorful repertoire.
The book also talks about pedagogical action of Alibaba Mammadov.
For his merits before the nation Alibaba Mammadov was awarded the honorary titles Honorary Artist in 1963 and People’s Artist in 1989, Honorary Badge ‘Excellent Student in Culture of USSR’, Vahid Prize in 1992 for songs and tesnifs he composed to works by Vahid. In his 70th jubilee A.Mammadov was awarded the Order ‘Shohret’ by Decree of February 4, 2000 of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Alibaba Mammadov is the individual scholar of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The book contains pictures of the singer taken in various events, as well with his students, colleagues and family.
