A ceremony in Vatican devoted to the 20th anniversary of regain by Azerbaijan of its state independence
A solemn ceremony was held in Vatican devoted to the 20th anniversary of regain by Azerbaijan of its state independence, November 29, 2011. First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and President of the Pontifical Council for Culture Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi attended the ceremony.
Within the event, an exhibition with display of samples of old copper works, musical instruments, carpets and works exhibited at traditionally held “Maiden Tower” festival in Baku was organized. Three manuscripts of the Middle Ages being preserved in the collection of the Manuscripts Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and entered on the “World Memory” Program also were displayed at the exhibition.
The Italian version of the “Azerbaijan” edition was presented at the event.
Masters of Azerbaijani art performed at the event with a concert program.After the concert, guests were presented samples of the Azerbaijani cuisine. At the end, participants of the event were presented various publications of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation related to Azerbaijan.
