In 2007, the Heydar Aliyev
Foundation published the book “In the name of the Soviet Union” by well-known
Russian scholar-researcher, writer-historian, Professor Rudolf Ivanov. The book
talks of Jamshid Jafar oglu Nakhchyvanski, the sixth valiant general of the famous Nakhchyvan Khans dynasty and a
talented commander. Nakhchyvanski, who participated in the First World War and
saw troubles of two revolutions, earned the title of honoured officer, a series of military
orders, especially the St. George Order,
and commanded the Cavalry of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
The book has been written based on archive documents.
