President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of newly laid-out Ganjlik Park on the territory of the Khatai district, Baku city.
Assistant to the President Anar Alakbarov informed the head of the state and the first lady about the conditions created in the park.
Once an overgrown territory, this place has been totally improved, with no sign left from its previous appearance. Located in the Khatai district of the capital, this area has been reconstructed, becoming one of the lovely forest-type parks of Azerbaijan.
Back on November 11, 2019, when participating in the tree-planting action in the framework of the Project “Get together in the name of nature, get together in the name of life!” by the Regional Development Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the early days of laying out the park “Ganjlik”, the head of the state set tasks on improving the park, maintaining the existing natural landscape, and constructing public catering facilities, ensuring a necessary infrastructure for the purpose of peoples’ spending their free time efficiently, along with creating conditions here for entertainment and doing sports. Although short time has passed since then, the tasks set by the president have been fulfilled and, as a result, the new recreation centre became one of the beautiful places in the capital.
Different types of infrastructure have been ensured in the park for the recreation of city residents, and its guests. Those coming here may, both in summer, as well as in the winter months, watch magnificent views of Baku, and the Caspian Sea.
The Ganjlik Park covers an area of 43 hectares. Some 300 thousand trees and shrubs have been planted here, and greeneries laid out. In short, residents and guests of the city will have a chance to spend their free time efficiently here.
Sports and entertainment areas were created in the new park for both children and adults, and amusement facilities installed. There are also sports and entertainment area for physically disabled people, created by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
While designing the Ganjlik Park, every detail was prepared with special taste. The composition “Hearts”, presented here, embodies the love for the capital, its nature, and people.
Here were also built indoor and open-air football pitches. There are picnic areas for visitors of the park. Running tracks, as well as paths for cycling would become places where sports lovers would want to come the most to.
Considering the vast area of the park, necessary information and guiding boards were installed in the park to ensure the comfort of the visitors. One of the most interesting places of the park is the lake created here.
Headed by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been showing special attention to the projects implemented by the state towards improving the ecological condition in Azerbaijan. The Foundation has been implementing projects on laying out new green areas and protecting the existing ones in the country. Projects implemented with the objective of improving the ecological condition further, and laying out new green areas following the initiative and with the support of Leyla Aliyeva, the vice-president of the Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Association, have their significant role in this sphere.
Thus, by making significant contribution to the improvement and development works carried out in capital, the Ganjlik Park once more testifies to the fact that realization of the country’s social and ecological targets has been of a continuous nature.
