Series of events organized in Czechia on Khojaly genocide

Event was held on February 25 in Watslav Square in center of Prague in memory of Khojaly tragedy victims. It was the first of the series of events to be held in Czechia on the 15th anniversary of Khojaly genocide due to Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azeri-Czech Society and State Committee.


Documents, books, photos, booklets, CDs reflecting crimes committed by Armenians against Azeris were distributed to residents and guests of city. Vahid Aliyev, witness of the tragedy, Azeri students studying in Prague, members of Azeri-Czech Society provided information to the residents on Armenian bestialities, horrors hundreds underwent.

 

Ango Marinov, director of the museum created in memory of Liditse genocide victims, joined the participants as a sign of support to the event.

 

At the end of the event, 83 mourning candles were lit in memory of children killed in Khojaly by Armenians and Liditse by fascists. The same day director general of Liditse Memorial Museum M.Chervenchl talked in his interview to Czechia State Radio due to Khojaly and Liditse tragedies about tragedies people underwent.

 

In the events continued on February 26 at Liditse Museum delegation from Azerbaijan was given detailed information on Liditse tragedy and wreath was laid on the monument set in memory of tragedy victims.

 

Azerbaijan was offered to join the forum of representatives of EU cities having faced tragedy with representation of Khojaly city. M.Chervenchl said beginning from this year leadership of Khojaly City Executive Power will be invited to the ceremony on the 65th anniversary of Liditse tragedy on June 10.

 

At the end, exhibition was presented on Khojaly tragedy.
