On October 20, a conference on “Dialogue in the contemporary world” took place in the Turkish city of Kayseri, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Erciyes University of Turkey and the Talash District Municipality, and the Khojaly Park and the monument to the Khojaly genocide victims were opened.
Ali Hasanov, the assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for public and political affairs, attended the events.
Familiarization with the exhibition reflecting the university’s history took place before the conference held at the Erciyes University, with participation of deputies from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia, the professional and teaching staff, students of the university, and NGO and mass media representatives.
The state anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed.
Then, rector of Erciyes University, professor Mustafa Çaliş gave information about the headed by him university.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Khazar Ibrahim, having highly appreciated the importance of the conference, noted that making a call for dialogue in the contemporary world means to praise the policy of peace and stability.
Columnist of the newspaper “Vatan” Kurshad Zorlu talked about the importance of dialogue in the contemporary era.
Deputy of the Russian Federation’s State Duma Irina Rodnina, Dmitri Savelyev, Oksana Pushkina and official of the Duma Ramin Gasymov shared their thoughts and views of the theme.
Underscoring the importance of the idea of shifting from bilateral cooperation to a quadripartite cooperation relations, head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Shamil Ayrim said, with confidence, that such an initiative suits the interests of all sides. Talking extensively about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Daghlyg Garabagh conflict in his speech, Shamil Ayrim valued Armenia’s keeping 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands under occupation, ignoring international legal norms, as humiliation against the peace-loving world community.
Appreciating the thoughts uttered in the speeches as a call for peace and development, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President Ali Hasanov brought to attention that Azerbaijan and Turkey have been pursuing a policy of peace, progress, and development.
Graduate of the Erciyes University Najaf Gambarov underscored the importance of such a conference held in the university he is a student of.

On the same day, inauguration of the Khojaly Park laid out on the territory of the Talash Municipality, Kayseri city, and the monument erected to the Khojaly genocide victims took place.
First, Heydar Aliyev, Mustafa Kamal Ataturk and the Khojaly victims were commemorated with a minute’s silence.
The state anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed.
Head of the Talash District Municipality Mustafa Palançioğlu, Ramin Gasymov, Dmitri Savelyev, Shamil Ayrim, deputy of the National Assembly Elman Mammadov, graduate of the Erciyes University Najaf Gambarov and the assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for public and political affairs - department head Ali Hasanov spoke at the ceremony.
