Azerbaijan is represented at the 58th Venice Biennale – International Art Festival - with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Azerbaijan is participating in the Biennale with a national pavilion on the topic “Virtual Reality”.
Works by artists and sculptors Zeygam Azizov, Orkhan Mammadov, Zarnishan Yusuf, Kamran Aliyev and Ulviyya Aliyeva are presented at the exposition opened in Laise Palace related to the 14th century in Campo Santo Stefano.
Subjects of the multimedia works, installations and statues in the pavilion cover the following: everyday, people are encountering fascinating flow of information. Every human in the world checks his phone about 150 times a day, over 2 billion people use social networks. False information is spread mostly via social networks, and majority of the discussions held are not associated with whether or not they were true.
The 58th Venice Biennale will continue until November 24.
Venice Biennale is considered to be among the most reputable exhibitions of the world in the field of culture, held once every two years. Azerbaijan has been participating in this international project since 2007.
