Azerbaijani musicians participate in the 2nd Ramatuelle Classical Music Festival due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

The 2nd Ramatuelle Classical Music Festival started in Ramatuelle, France, 17 July.


The Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev opened the Festival. The Orchestra conducted by People`s Artist Teymur Goychayev performed works by prominent Azerbaijani composers, such as Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov, Arif Malikov, Farhad Badalbayli, Tofig Guliyev, Vagif Mustafazade and world classics such as Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Debussy.

 

President of the Festival Roland Kayn officially opened the ceremony.

 

Executive Director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov read out a letter by Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to participants.

 

The letter stresses the participation of the Azerbaijani musicians in the Festival due to support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation serves the popularization of Azerbaijani and world classic music. It says Azerbaijan has ancient and reach music traditions and the country occupies a special place in the world music culture. Country`s culture is popularized and gains successes in the international arena thanks to Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s support and care. Azerbaijan also hosts different international cultural events. The International Mugham, Gabala International Music and Rostropovich festivals made huge contribution to the world music.

 

The letter underlined Azerbaijan’s triumph at the Eurovision 2011 Song Contest.

 

The event featured a performance by People`s Artist of Azerbaijan Murad Adygozalzade.
