On 8 December 2014, an Evening of Azerbaijani Culture took place in the German city of Dresden with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany.
A concert by the State Chamber Orchestra of Azerbaijan named after Gara Garayev took place at the evening held in Albertum Museum of Dresden.
Within the framework of the event, the book “German Traces in Azerbaijan”, a new publication by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was presented. In a book prepared with close participation of head of the “History of Azerbaijan” Department of the Humboldt University, professor Eva Maria Auch, Germans’ inhabitation of Azerbaijan has been interpreted in historical terms, and scientific facts, photos and maps were provided.
Guests of the evening made themselves acquainted with the photo-exhibition “German Traces in Azerbaijan” and an exposition consisting of the art works by winners of the competition “Germany Through An Artist’s Eyes”.
The event was attended by members of the Dresden City Municipality, Director of the Dresden Philharmonic Anslem Rose, Director of the Dresden Museums Union Guisbert Porzman, member of the city’s Chamber of Trade and Industry Helput Goltz, Rector of the Dresden Academy of Art Matias Flüge, Director of the Dresden State Museum Erika Eschebach, member of the Dresden Opera Directorate Solweig Eckert, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Germany, mass media, as well as heads of the Muslim, Orthodox and Jewish religious communities of the Land of Saxony.
