A series of cultural events were held in Moscow, from February 21st to March 1st, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
On February 22, inauguration of an exhibition entitled “Azerbaijani carpets: new vision” took place in the Azerbaijani pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Moscow. 14 carpets related to the “Garabagh” Group were displayed at the exhibition, arranged in cooperation with “Azerkhalcha” Joint-stock company. Four of them were from a contemporary collection in a new original format.
The literary project “Dilden dile” based on great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi’s poem “Seven Beauties” was presented in the Azerbaijani pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Moscow. Pieces from the “Seven Beauties” were presented in the framework of the project by persons of culture and art of Russia and Azerbaijan.
On February 22, in the framework of the events entitled “Days of Azerbaijan in Moscow”, inauguration of an exhibition called “Works from the Tretyakov Gallery’s Collection” by People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Tahir Salahov took place in the New Tretyakov Gallery. Such works of the artist as “Gladiolus”, “Portrait of Gara Garayev”, and “Aydan” were presented at the exhibition where famous works of Tahir Salahov were displayed.
A gala-concert called “Music stars of Azerbaijan on a Moscow scene” took place on the scene of the music theatre “Gelikon-opera”. Jeyla Seyidova, Dinara Aliyeva, Elchin Azizov, Elvin Ganiyev, Murad Adygoezalzade, Sahib Pashazadeh, Shahryar Imanov and Yusif Eyvazov performed works by Azerbaijani and Russian composers at the concert conducted by Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan Fuad Ibrahimov.
