Azerbaijan participated in the Venice International Architectural Biennale, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, supported by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy.

The biennale aimed at increasing attention to climate changes by covering the theme “Intelligence. Natural. Artificial. Collective”. Our country was represented here by a pavilion named “Equilibrium. Patterns of Azerbaijan”. Three examples of architecture – the Baku White City, the Victory Park and Zangilan Mosque – were presented under the slogan “Restructure. Innovation. Security” in our national pavilion.

The Baku White City project, as one of the leading and modern town-building projects, embodies a transition from industrial past to sustainable and restructured green future by means of modern technology and joint endeavours.

A symbol of the 8th November victory, with its stately appearance, the Victory Park immortalizes the memory of the sons of the Homeland who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our lands, demonstrating the will of our people, who were solidary for the national welfare.

Constructed in the Garabagh architectural style, Zangilan Mosque symbolizes a synthesis of nature with architecture, and the present with the future.

Information is provided at the pavilion also about the founder of Nakhchyvan’s architectural school, world-renowned architect Ajami Nakhchyvani, who lived in the 12th century and devoted his life and intellect to his people and nation.
