Shamkir Branch of Baku Oxford School has been constructed at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Education at the school, which started to operate since November 2010, is conducted on preschool education, primary classes, secondary school and high school phases. In addition, international biennial “A-level” programmes are taught at the school. Pupils finishing these programmes may enter various universities of the Great Britain, if passed international exams.

Leavers of the school receive, in addition to a secondary education certificate of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a certificate of the Cambridge University for secondary education. Lessons at the school are conducted in English.

The school’s hostel is 4 thousand square metres. Necessary conditions have been created here for the accommodation of 90 pupils and 9 teachers. First and second floors of the hostel are designed for boys, and the third floor for girls. There is an electronic library, various sports facilities, art-studio and a cinema hall.

Along with Shamkir, also children from Ganja, Gadabey, Aghstafa, Tovuz and Gazakh districts are studying at the school.
