“Fly to Baku. Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” exhibition in Rome

The exhibition “Fly to Baku. Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan” was inaugurated  at Rome’s MAXXI National Modern Art Museum, March 5th, 2013, within the framework of a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the English version of the “Baku” magazine and Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Italy.


The opening ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, well-known members of the Roman sociaty and persons of art.


Over 100 works of 21 artists in painting, graphics, sculpture, photography and video genres were displayed at the exhibition.


Visitors of the exhibition were presented booklets with the works being displayed here, English versions of the “Baku” magazine and “Ali and Nino” and disks with a video film about Azerbaijan.


The exhibition continued through March 26.
