On December 4, 2014, an Evening of Azerbaijani Culture was held in the German city of Dusseldorf, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany. At the evening held at Dusseldorf Theatre House, a concert programme by Azerbaijani master of jazz music Elchin Shirinov and Great Britain’s masters of jazz Dave Hamblett and Sam Laserson took place.
Participants of the event were shown a photo-exhibition called “German Traces in Azerbaijan” and an exposition consisting of art works of winners of the art competition “Germany Through An Artist’s Eyes”, and the book “German Traces in Azerbaijan”, a new publication by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was distributed. In a book prepared with close participation of head of the “History of Azerbaijan” Department of the Humboldt University, professor Eva Maria Auch, Germans’ inhabitation of Azerbaijan has been interpreted in historical terms, and scientific facts, photos and maps were provided.
The event was attended by deputies of the North Rhine-Westphalia Federal Land, representatives of Germany’s public and political and cultural circles, as well as the diplomatic corps accredited in this country and mass media.
