Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with Governor of the Astrakhan region Alexander Jilkin, September 12.


The Governor of the Astrakhan region told that relations between Astrakhan and Azerbaijan was a symbol of strategic and friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. The Governor underlined: “The Azerbaijani Diaspora in Astrakhan is one of the biggest and active diasporas of the region. It is very pleasing that Azerbaijanis are active in a number of spheres, including in management positions.” A. Jilkin emphasized that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has done a lot for the development of cooperation.

 

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva told that five years passed since the establishment of the Russian representation of the Foundation. Leyla Aliyeva said: “One of the first representations was opened in Russia. During the past period, the Foundation has implemented a number of projects. We are pleased that the Foundation has implemented a lot of projects in Astrakhan. Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia has been built on the basis of years-long friendship ties. Just relying on these ties, the friendly relations will strengthen further.”

 

Leyla Aliyeva said: “The Russian Representation has planned to implement a project by IDEA related to protection of the environment. At the same time, we have planned to hold an essay competition among Astrakhan schoolchildren on protection of the environment.”
