Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva met with members of the regional branch of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia in the Astrakhan Region

Chairman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) Leyla Aliyeva met, on September 12, in secondary school No.11 of Astrakhan city with members of the Astrakhan branch of the organization.

 

First Leyla Aliyeva familiarized herself with the school building essentially repaired on the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative and financial support from the state of Azerbaijani. Two new buildings were constructed during the renovation works and classrooms provided with the latest equipment. 


Leyla Aliyeva viewed the conditions created for schoolchildren. The school has 20 rooms. Currently, 650 pupils are educated at the school, of which 32 are Azerbaijanis. 42 teachers are working at the school.


Making a speech at the meeting, Leyla Aliyeva said the Astrakhan branch of AYOR is one of the active regional branches. She emphasized that AYOR had implemented a number of projects in Astrakhan. 


Leyla Aliyeva said: “AYOR exists almost five years. Our target is to bring Azerbaijani youth living in Russia together. Today AYOR has over 60 regional branches.”

 

Saying AYOR’s regional branches celebrated Azerbaijan’s national holidays, propagated just position of our country in the Azerbaijani-Armenian, Daghlyg Garabagh conflict, disseminated truth about our republic, Leyla Aliyeva said: “We believe this conflict will soon find its just solution and all refugees and internally displaced people return to their lands.”

 

AYOR’s chairman underlined that an international campaign called “IDEA” has started on the  Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. A number of interesting projects have been implemented within this campaign, some 60 thousand trees planted, conferences and seminars held. At the end of her speech, Leyla Aliyeva said: “I invite you to join this movement and share with your proposals” .

 

Chairman of the organization’s Astrakhan branch Elvin Huseynov thanked Leyla Aliyeva on behalf of the region’s Azerbaijani youth for this meeting and said that AYOR’s Astrakhan branch unites more than 350 young people participating in the region’s public and political life. E. Huseynov underlined that the Astrakhan Regional Administration gave the highest rating for the results of 2010-2011 to AYORS regional branch among the youth organizations of the city.
