Mehriban Aliyeva met with Maria Kaczynska, spouse of Polish President

Maria Kaczynska, spouse of Polish President, visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation on March 30.

 

First, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, sincerely welcomed the spouse of Polish President.

 

During the talk Mrs Aliyeva informed Mrs Kaczynska of the Foundation established in May 2004 in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev. She noted main goals of the Foundation is to study and propagate rich political legacy of famous political figure Heydar Aliyev, create an obvious idea in foreign visitors and future generations on his large-scale activity towards socio-economic and cultural progress of Azerbaijan, support international projects started by the genius person, help the works implemented in field of wide propaganda of Azeri culture and history. In addition, nearly 200 modern schools were built and supplied with necessary appliances on the initiative of the Foundation in all regions of the republic. Wide projects were realized in field of science, specially for helping the people suffering from diabetes and thalassemia, construction of new schools, teaching the invalid children to use IT, up to 4000 citizens rendered help in treatment. Last project of the Foundation titled `May each plant a tree` caused a wide resonance in the country, over 100,000 trees planted for short time. Several projects were carried out towards development of science, culture, application of IT. 29 children homes and boarding schools were reconstructed and equipped with new and modern appliances.

 

Mehriban Aliyeva underlined the Foundation firmly cooperates with a number of international, public, non-governmental organizations.

 

Mrs Maria Kaczynska highly valued wide-scale activity of the First Lady of Azerbaijan and Foundation led by her, wished success in this generous mission.
