Mehriban Aliyeva meets ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz bin Othman Altwaijri
On May 27, the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva has met with the visiting Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Altwaijri.
The president of the Foundation informed the visitor on the projects which are carried out by Foundation, created with a view of studying and bringing up to the future generations of the life and activity, rich heritage of the architect and founder of the independent Azerbaijan state, national leader Heydar Aliyev, in connection with development of a science, education, culture and public health services, solution of social and environmental problems in the country.
Mehriban Aliyeva informed that within the framework of program developed by Heydar Aliyev Foundation "Development of children`s homes and boarding schools", now due to means of Foundation, in 120 comprehensive schools located in remote mountain villages of republic, 11 special schools, boarding schools for children - invalids, orphans and deprived of parental care, houses for aged, capital repair work and reconstruction are carried out, that such 25 establishments function under trusteeship of the Foundation, complex measures for treatment of children sick with thalassemia are developed, compact disks with records of our ancient music - mughams - a unique pearl of east music were released.
Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Altwaijri, having noted that is pleased with the detailed information received by him, so valuable work done by the Foundation, started the activity only one year ago, for short time, has emphasized that the late mother of Mehriban Aliyeva, professor Aida Imanguliyeva is well-known in the Arabian countries as the outstanding orientalist, informed, that under the offer and initiative of some authoritative orientalist specialists, the works of the scientist would be published in translation into the Arabian language.
At the meeting, also were discussed opportunities of realization of some joint projects between Azerbaijan, and also the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and ISESCO, focused questions of development of mutual cooperation.
President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation has handed over the visitor works of professor Aida Imanguliyeva and memorable gifts of the Foundation.
General director of ISESCO has invited Mehriban Aliyeva to opening ceremony in the capital of Saudi Arabia of new headquarters of the Organization supervised by him.
Then, Dr. Altwaijri has familiarized with the museum of Foundation, has examined exposition that reflected the life of ingenious Heydar Aliyev, devoted to the Motherland and people, books about him. Having expressed satisfaction with the meeting, the visitor has emphasized that the building of Foundation synthesizes in itself the best traditions of classical east architecture.
At the meeting, also was attending was Minister of Education Misir Mardanov and the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Azerbaijan Ali Hasan Ahmed Jafar.
