Mehriban Aliyeva visits a subsidiary school for mentally deficient orphans and children deprived of parental care in Shuvalan settlement

On February 1, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva visited subsidiary school for mentally deficient orphans and children deprived of parental care in Shuvalan settlement of Azizbeyov district of Baku. National-dressed girls presented flowers here to distinguished guest.


Its Director Mubariz Gasymov let Mrs. Aliyeva know that the school founded in 1990 has 138 students, 19 educators and 24 teachers, there are 14 classrooms in education corpus and that a sports hall is now being built owing to the European Union grant, while oil company Chevron had built here an education room.


Mehriban Aliyeva was familiarized with a hostel, a lounge, a computer hall, dining room and kitchen, and was curios about the quality of food. It was stated that according to known Decree of Azerbaijani President, computers will be given to special boarding school by March of this year.


Then UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador viewed a training building, mini photo-exhibitions "Life Remained in People`s Hearts" dedicated to national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, "Homeland - Property of its Deserved Sons" covering activities of President Ilham Aliyev, and "Gift Us Peace and We Will Gift You Life" reflecting students` achievements in various competitions, saw classes of native language and geography in classrooms, took interest in education program. Pupils of 4th class said poem "Grandfather Heydar", welcomed distinguished guest with poem.


Mrs. Aliyeva thanked them, saw exercise of children in labor training course, as well their handworks.


Spouse of President was presented souvenir.
