Mehriban Aliyeva visits republican special boarding school named after Elmar Mirzayev in Turkan settlement

On February 1, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva visited republican special boarding school named after Elmar Mirzayev in Turkan settlement of Azizbeyov district for children with speech disorders, took interest in problems and circumstance of school where169 pupils study.

Sincerely and kindly welcoming Mrs. Aliyeva, pupils and teachers expressed gratitude to her for visiting school.

President of Foundation showed interest in problems of school.

Director of the school Ilham Aghayev let Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva know that there are 169 students and 36 teachers here, and that the school had been reconstructed just a few years ago, no problem with water and electricity supply but gas.

Speaking of the training process, he said 134 students live at the hostel, children are taught by speech therapist individually, and teachers are highly qualified professionals who graduated from Moscow Teachers Training University.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva warmly met and conversed with students in the classrooms, paid special attention to their level of knowledge, wished them success in education.

President of Foundation was then familiarized with the conditions created at the hostel, viewed the dining room, asked about the quality of food and visited food warehouse. The need for repair work at the school was especially emphasized.
