A new school building constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Bijo village of Aghsu is commissioned into operation

A new school building constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Bijo village, one of the largest settlements of Aghsu district, was commissioned into operation.  

 

On September 17, on the first school day, inauguration of a new education establishment designed and constructed by the Foundation took place.

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov congratulated pupils and teachers on the new school year, as well as on the commissioning of the new school building. A. Alakbarov conveyed greetings of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to the participants.

 

Bringing to attention that the Foundation had realized thousands of projects and went beyond the boundaries of Azerbaijan, having expanded the geography of these projects, A.Alakbarov said the Foundation’s activities covered such areas as culture, education, healthcare, restoration of historical monuments etc. He emphasized that over 400 school buildings had been constructed in our country in the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s projects in the field of education. The project “New schools for renewed Azerbaijan” and works carried out under this project are the result of the care shown by the Foundation towards our education, and our future.

 

With the area of over 2500 square metres, the school is two-storied, designed for 220 pupils. The building accommodates 11 classrooms, chemistry, biology and physics laboratories, an information science room, a military education room, a workshop, a physicians’ room, an assembly hall and a canteen, provided with all necessary furniture and equipment. A sports ground of 1000 square metres is built in the open air.

 

The new education establishment has been provided with water, heating systems, as well as fire alarm and video surveillance equipment. A green area has been laid out on the territory, and over 200 new trees planted.

 

150 pupils are educated in the school with a single shift system. A staff of 23 people is engaged in their education. Teaching is conducted in Azerbaijani.
