A master’s programme is presented in the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Italy’s TechnipFMC Company

On May 30, presentation of the project “Master’s programme on conveying technological knowledge to students studying in the oil, gas and petrochemical fields”, to be implemented in the framework of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and TechnipFMC, Italy’s oil and gas company, took place.

 

Holding of events on improving knowledge and skills of students studying in the field of oil and gas on the master’s programme, as well as implementation of joint projects in the fields of science, technology and education is intended to realize in the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Italy’s oil and gas company, TechnipFMC.

 

The documents were signed by Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov and President of TechnipFMC Marco Villa.

 

Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Education Ministry, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), the Baku High Oil School and other organizations attended the presentation associated with the project.

 

Speaking at the event, President of TechnipFMC Marco Villa talked about the significance of the memorandum of cooperation signed, mentioning that the company intends to continue the cooperation with Azerbaijan in this field, and said: “Our company is supporting application of innovations in this field. We can cooperate with Azerbaijan in the field of transportation technology, and innovations.”

 

Director of the International Relations Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Soltan Mammadov talked about the purpose of the training programme. He noted that this programme is one of the significant projects aiming to contribute to the education, environment and technology sector of the country, conveying technological and industrial innovations to Azerbaijani students and professionals, improving their knowledge and skills. It was mentioned that in the framework of the memorandum, education institutions operating in Azerbaijan would be involved in this project. The master’s programme will be implemented both within the country, and abroad.

 

Head of the Azerbaijani representative office of TechnipFMC Luici Fiorentino gave information about the company’s activities in Azerbaijan, saying that TechnipFMC is an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) global leader in the field of technology meant for submarine, onland and marine sites, as well as overground technologies. The company has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1997, and has implemented many projects, including the first platform for “Shahdeniz 1” (TPC-500). Moreover, being the only company to have received a licence in the field of oil and gas in Azerbaijan, TechnipFMC has developed a number of projects. Among them may be cited the SOCAR Azerkimya project. Under this project, new cracking and gas treatment installations are built. And both gas treatment and petrochemical steam cracking installations under the SOCAR GPC project were designed completely on the basis of TechnipFMC technology.
