Next Psychosocial Rehabilitation Summer School for Diabetes-Affected Children Organized in Azerbaijan due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

This is the second year a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Summer School for Diabetes-Affected Children, which has no analogue, is organized in Azerbaijan due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


The School is organized in Ganca City and will operate during 15 days. It is meant for 30 children, including orphans, refugees, IDPs and families having 2 or 3 members with diabetes. The main purpose of the School is to prepare young leaders who will be able to give preliminary medical and psychological support to other children in future.

 

The program to kick off on August 23 includes lessons highlighting the psychosocial rehabilitation of children, development of self-trust, self-defence, self-affirmation in teenagers, promotion of the methods of tolerant attitude towards the incidents happening in own life and around. For this purpose, the working group including endocrinologists, psychologists and other specialists will hold trainings providing children with appropriate habits by using individual consultations and psychotherapeutics.

 

Children will get acquainted with historical-worth seeing places in Ganca, take part in English language courses, write compositions in different topics, attend contests, intellectual games and sport competitions.
