Portable ultrasound examination device donated to the Republic Endocrinology Center

 A portable ultrasound examination device designed to discover iodine deficiency diseases was donated to the Republic Endocrinology Center by Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Greek Embassy to Azerbaijan, November 13.


The first device of this kind donated by the Greek Embassy was installed at the Sheki Central District Hospital.

 

Highly valuing activities of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ambassador of Greece to Azerbaijan Ionannis Metaksas said the device is of symbolic character. He underlined such cooperation indicates good relations between the two countries.

 

Talking of the high-level development of health care in Azerbaijan, Chief of the Republic Endocrinology Center Rauf Jabbarov said problems related to iodine deficiency have decreased for the past years. The device can be taken to different places of the republic since that is small.

 

Speakers stated one of major directions in activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation is health care. The Foundation has implemented a number of projects in this sphere within cooperation with international organizations.
