One of central streets in Techirghiol, Romania, has been named after Professor Bekir Çobanzade, the great scientist of Azerbaijan, at the initiative and due to support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Romania and Romanian Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
City Mayor Adrian Stan talked in the event about the Azerbaijani scientist. According to the Mayor, this decision was welcomed by Turkish and Tatar communities in the City. «The bust of the scientist will also be established there», the Mayor said.
Representative of the Romanian Tatar community in the parliament Aledin Amet expressed gratitude to the state of Azerbaijan, the Embassy and Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the initiative, noting the similar initiative is going to be fulfilled in Majidiyya, Constanta Province compactly populated by Turkish and Tatar communities. One of the main parks in the City will also be named after the scholar.
Talking of the high level of Romania-Azerbaijan relationship, representative of the Embassy Fakhri Kerimli thanked Techirghiol Municipality and the state of Romania for perpetuating the memory of the scientist.
Other speakers underlined necessity for development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in cultural and other spheres, expressed intention for implementation of joint projects, initiated fraternization of Techirghiol with one of Azerbaijan cities.
