A ceremony of revering the memory of Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev was held, in connection with the 10th anniversary of his death, at the Heydar Aliyev Alley in the centre of Bucharest, Romania, on December 12.
Employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bucharest, employees of the Romanian representative offices of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, members of the Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, the Romania-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Board of Directors of Romania-Azerbaijan Culture and Youth Association, representatives of the Turkish-Tatar community, students honoured with the Heydar Aliyev scholarship, and Azerbaijanis living and studying in Romania attended the ceremony.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania Tehran Shukurov talked of Heydar Aliyev’s services to strengthening of statehood, establishment of stability in the country, securing social and economic development, building and developing a democratic country, ensuring the rule of law, building a civil society, and strengthening the position of the republic both in the region and the world, and said this policy is now being continued successfully.
Then the participants of the event visited the Romanian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Director of the Representative Office Igbal Hajiyev talked of the life and activity of Heydar Aliyev, his services to strengthening of our independence, building democratic, legal and secular state, and establishment of stability in the country. He talked also of the Foundation’s large-scale humanitarian and benevolent activity.
