Memory of victims of Khojaly tragedy honored in more than 100 countries across the world with the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

The 20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy is commemorated this year in more than 100 cities across the world with the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Series of events dedicated to the genocide will be organized by Azerbaijan`s embassies, consulates, diplomatic missions and diaspora organizations in various countries on the basis of the propaganda materials provided by the Foundation.


These materials prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which have become an effective ideological tool to inform the world of the realities of Azerbaijan, have been distributed in a number of countries. Commemorative events have been held in Washington, New York, Warsaw, London, Beijing, Hague, Dubai, Kiev, Moscow, Berlin, Strasbourg, Brussels, Bucharest, Geneva, Ankara, Istanbul, Prague, Paris, Rome, Tbilisi, Sarajevo and other cities since 2005.


The events will feature film “Khojaly genocide” made by the Foundation, photos reflecting the atrocities committed by Armenians, materials on the tragedy posted in different years in influential publications of foreign countries, as well “Khojaly in the eyes of children” art exhibition held by the Foundation in general education schools and children homes.


Collection of booklets “Garabagh realities” and “War against Azerbaijan – Targeting Cultural Heritage” book developed by the Foundation for the international community will be distributed during the events.


Collection of booklets “Garabagh realities” gives detailed information about the history of Garabagh, the beginning of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Daghlig Garabagh conflict, the Khojaly genocide, the results of Armenian aggression, the activities of Armenian terrorist organizations against Azerbaijan. The booklet “Garabagh realities” published since 2005 in Azerbaijani, Russian, English, German, Hungarian, French and other languages will be presented to the international community this year too.


The gracefully designed booklets that have been published on the high polygraphic level are rich in photographs. They also feature Azerbaijan's map and Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia. Also, the booklets provide information on damage as a result of the conflict, the Armenian terrorism, the victims of the occupation, etc.


“War against Azerbaijan – Targeting Cultural Heritage” book published in English provides the readers with the detailed information about vandalism committed by Armenians against the national historic sites.


Opening ceremony of the monumental complex in the memory of the victims of Khojaly genocide in one of European cities will be held by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as part of the events.


Representatives from various agencies, diplomatic missions, city residents, as well as foreign media representatives are invited to these events aiming to assure the international awareness about Khojaly tragedy.
