The pavilion “A Window to Azerbaijani Culture” in China is notable for influx of visitors

Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, within the framework of his visit to the People’s Republic of China, met with Secretary of the Bengbu city committee of the country’s Communist Party Juan Siaovu and head of the Taihu World Culture Forum Cheng Chuansin.

 

Secretary of the Bengbu city committee of the Communist Party of PRC Juan Siaovu, emphasizing that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to provide support to the cultural park “Ancient Residences” in Bengbu city, thanked for building the national pavilion “A Window to Azerbaijani Culture” by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.  

 

Having been in operation in the cultural park “Ancient Residences” in China’s Bengbu city since 2021, the pavilion “A Window to Azerbaijani Culture” aroused interest in regular visitors of the park. Mister Siaovu noted that they expected high influx of visitors to the park, including the pavilion, due to the increase of the city’s tourist potential.

 

Head of the Taihu World Culture Forum Cheng Chuansin talked about the significance of Azerbaijan’s participation in the last forum as an honorary guest-country, and the address by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to forum participants in terms of developing cultural ties. He expressed his willingness to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the future forums too.

 

The Azerbaijani pavilion was the first pavilion among the limited number of foreign national pavilions to start its activity in the park of “Ancient Residences”. Carpets and kilims related to various carpet schools of Azerbaijan, examples of coppersmithery, decorative creativity and the art of shebeke (lattice), national garments, musical instruments, publications of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about the culture, history and contemporary development of Azerbaijan, as well as national souvenirs are displayed at the pavilion. Moreover, a bust of Azerbaijan’s poet of genius and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, works of sculpture from the series of “Kharybulbul”, “Maiden Tower” and “Gazelles”, and imitation of Gobustan petroglyphs are among the exhibits.
