International conference to be held in Baku due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in frame of initiative ‘Youth for Alliance of Civilizations’

International conference and some other events will be held in Baku October 28-November 3 under leadership of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in frame of initiative ‘Youth for Alliance of Civilizations’.


Initiative was advanced in 2006 by Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialog and Cooperation and carried out in association with UNDP, ISESCO and CE.


In the first day of the event Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva and President of Science and Culture Foundation of Qatar Sheikha Muza bint Nasir al-Missned will make main lectures, also UN Secretary General’s High Spokesman for Union of Civilizations, former president of Portugal Jorji Sampayyun, ISESCO Director General Othman al-Tuveyjri and other distinguished attendees will make speech.


Within the international conference, world-famous scholars will deliver lectures on history of various civilizations, their relationship, political, social and cultural aspects in the group of 45 young leaders from Western and Eastern Asian countries and OIC.


Lectures will be themed ‘Culture and Intercultural Relations’, ‘Dangers of Phobias: Islamphobia and Westphobia’, ‘Development of Youth: From Poverty to Richness’, ‘Education Reforms in Moslem World and West’ etc. Youth will take active part in discussions.


Baku Declaration ‘Alliance of Generations’ will be adopted in the end of the Conference. The Declaration will be submitted to Annual Global Alliance Forum to be held under leadership of UN in Madrid January 2008.
