International Music Festival and Competition of Pianists in Gabala city due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

International Music Festival and Competition of Pianists is underway in Gabala City due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Foundation`s Executive Director Anar Alakbarov, addressing the opening ceremony of the event which will last till August 23, read the letter of congratulations by President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to participants of the Festival.


In the letter, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva wishes success to participants and jury of the event that she finds a significant music festivity. 

 

The letter says Gabala International Music Festival and international competition of pianists attended by world-famous music workers will discover new talents, bring the youth and professionals together. In frame of the Festival, notorious pianists will give master classes. 

 

Participants of the Festival were congratulated by Art Director of the Festival, Chairman of the Union of Music Workers of Azerbaijan, rector of Baku Musical Academy, Professor Farhad Badalbayli, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev. According to them, the Festival, which is organized in high level and propagates the Azerbaijani culture, will serve popularization of musical traditions of Azerbaijan all over the world.

 

Ranaana, the Israeli orchestra, performed ouverture from Koroghlu opera by Uzeyir Hajibeyov in the ceremony, which included a performance by Azerbaijan State Choir as well.

 

Within the Festival will be arranged chamber music concert, Azerbaijan jazz soiree, concert in memory of Muslum Magomayev, international pianists contest and mugham soiree. The Festival’s participants will give the final concert August 22.

 

The Festival that is attended by famous musicians of 16 countries such as USA, France, Israel, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Italy, Spain consists of 3 parts. Concerts will be organized first in the yard of Gafgaz Resort Hotel, then world-famous pianists will give master classes for the youth, and in the end a contest of young pianists will take place at Gabala District Culture House.
