`Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` exhibition opened in Baku
`Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` exhibition was opened on March 2 at Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic. Organizers of the exhibition are Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chagh Oyretim Ishletmeleri Shirketi, and the ministries of education and the culture and tourism.
First, executive director of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Elekberov read the congratulation letter of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, Presidet of the Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, to the event participants.
The letter says:
`I greet the organizers and participants of `Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` exhibition!
I highly value the importance of the exhibition held in Azerbaijani capital on this purpose and consider that realization of such an event in our country is natural. Our country, situated in one of the interesting points of the world from geographic view - in junction of West and East, has been considered from the ancient times as a region where the caravan routes crossed and different civilizations, religions, cultures encountered. Hospitality of Azerbaijanis as local population, their attitude on other nations and religions has formed a tolerant society in this land centuries ago.
It can be said with certainty that modern Azerbaijan integrating to the world remains as the country successfully connecting cultures of East and West, Europe and Asia, specifically synthesizing the different outlooks, leading to their development, most of all, respecting them in the same way and we feel pride for this.
Major goal of organization of `Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` exhibition to show loyalty of present Azerbaijan to the traditions coming from centuries, prove once more the respect of our nation to universal values, as well cultures of other nations.
Active participation of the youth in preparation of `Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` exhibition we see today is pleasant. Because being Heydar Aliyev Foundation in all our projects we implement at the children homes and boarding schools, other educational institutions we pay special attention to multilateral development of growing generation, try to train it in soul of our national values based on the humanism, cultures of other nations as well.
`Junction of distinctive cultures - Azerbaijan` project can be considered successful also because such events contributes to expansion of outlook of young generation, increase their knowledge on different cultures, strengthens the friendly ties among nations, inspires to possess a beautiful and peaceful world without wars`.
Culture and tourism minister Abulfaz Garayev, education minister Misir Merdanov, chairman of the board of Chagh Oyretim Ishletmeleri Shirketi Adem Ozeren talked of the role and place of Azerbaijan in globalized world, contributions of our nation to the universal culture from the very ancient times, important position of our country in Eurasia. They stated the private Azerbaijan-Turk lyceums started to function with blessing of national leader Heydar Aliyev have gained great successes, President Ilham Aliyev pays big care and attention to development of education in Azerbaijan. They emphasized the importance of this event held under patronage of Heydar Aliyev Foundation possessing deep respect of our people due to different projects consistently implemented in the country, effective works carried out in field of informing the world community of the Azerbaijani realities, philanthropic activity.
Pupils of the private Azerbaijan-Turk lyceums of the republic performed the musical-literary composition. The schoolchildren appearing on the stage in national dresses of 27 countries represented in Azerbaijan with diplomatic missions expressed their ideas `the world is common home to all us, there is place here to everybody, all nations, all peoples, it is enough to take hand in hand and live in peace, mercy and kindness to make the world more beautiful, our life more interesting` by singing, dancing and performing plays.
Then red ribbon symbolizing opening of the exhibition was cut. Reps of the republican government, MPs, employees of science, culture, education, foreign ambassadors to Azerbaijan saw the exhibitions reflecting history, geography, ethnography, culture of every country.
In Azerbaijan section of the exhibition differed with its richness the audience was welcomed by the coming Novruz Holiday characters - Kechel, Kosa, Bahar Gyz performing national dances and plays.
The exhibition will be open on March 3 as well.
