On July 18, inauguration of Vagif’s Poetry Days took place before the Molla Panah Vagif’s museum-mausoleum complex in Shusha city.
Vagif’s Poetry Days are organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture.
The opening ceremony was attended by state and government officials, renowned persons of science and culture of the republic, members of the Writers Union of Azerbaijan, young authors, and poets.
Secretary of the Writers Union of Azerbaijan (WUA), People’s Writer Chingiz Abdullayev, President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibullayev , People’s Writer Elmira Akhundova and deputy of the 4th convocation Fazil Mustafa delivered a speech at the event.
People’s Poet Sabir Rustamkhanly, chairperson of the Press Council of Azerbaijan, deputy chairperson of WUA Rashad Majid, secretary of WUA, poet-interpreter Salim Babullaoghlu and chairperson of WUA’s Gazakh division Barat Vusal told their poems, taking about Shusha’s magnificence, its incredible nature, uniqueness, the city’s becoming an address of international events.
In the artistic part, a poetic duet of Mahammad Fuzuli and Molla Panah Vagif, and a concert was presented.
Musical works “Garabagh composition”, “Mountains of Shusha” and “Here is the Homeland” were performed within the programme.
