Opening of the Vagif’s Poetry Days takes place

Jointly organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Writers Union of Azerbaijan (WUA), the Vagif’s Poetry Days are launched again. The traditional poetry festival covers, this year too, several cities and districts of the country.

The poetry days started in Gazakh district, where Molla Panah Vagif was born. In the artistic part of the event were read works by the poet, then, a small scene from the play “Vagif” by Samad Vurghun was shown.

To continue in Ganja city on July 15, in Aghdam district on July 16, the Poetry Days will be finalized in the city of Shusha on July 17 and 18.

Within the framework of the Poetry Days will be organized poetry hours, book exhibitions and presentations, music compositions, scientific conferences, theatrical shows and various literary and artistic programmes at various historical and cultural sites of Gazakh, Ganja, Aghdam and Shusha, including the museum and mausoleum complex of Molla Panah Vagif, Natavan’s House, Garabagh Hotel and the mansion of Mehmandarovs, restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
