President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attends the holiday festival held for children at Gulustan Palace

It is third year that Heydar Aliyev Foundation arranges at Gulustan Palace the New Year festivals for pupils distinguished in education at different secondary schools of Baku, children from children homes and boarding schools, martyr, refugee and IDP families, orphans and children deprived of parental care. Thousands of children were invited to the festivities.


On December 29 Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, attended next holiday festival, spent several hours with children, shared their joy and pride with her daughter Arzu.

 

Despite the real winter weather, over thousand of children were present at the festival. Actors in from Baku theatres welcomed children at the entry of the palace and accompanied them to seats.

 

First, a video on the meetings national leader Heydar Aliyev held in different years with children in World Azeris Solidarity Day and New Year holiday was shown. Also a documentary on the care of the Foundation to the children homes and boarding schools was shown.

 

Arrival of Santa Claus and Snow Girl in the palace colorfully decorated was welcomed with applauses.

 

Actors did their best to make children happy at the event that lasted over 3 hours.

 

Children and the adult accompanying them seemed to be grateful to Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its President Mehriban Aliyeva for presenting this wonderful festival to them. Congratulations by presenters, jokes by characters was lifting this spirit. The same day majority of attendees of the festival were children from IDP and refugee families, children needing daily care, trained at children homes and boarding schools.

 

Performance by masters of art, young talents, amateur child art groups enriched the event. Children dancing, admiring the miracles were very happy as performances of famous singers, clowns, magicians were addressed just to them. Interesting contests were organized in the festival, winners were granted prizes and presents by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Attitude by employees of Foundation to participants, care to everyone, high culture was appreciated by children and persons accompanying them.

 

Addressing the festival President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation MRS MEHRIBAN ALIYEVA said:

 

Dear children, dear parents and teachers! I cordially congratulate you on World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, Gurban Holiday and New Year, wish you health, happiness and success in future. I wish all your dreams to come true in New Year.

 

I am very glad that it is already several years we celebrate New Year holidays together at this beautiful Gulustan Palace. Initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation has become a tradition and I am very delighted that these nice holidays are marked and today, dear children, your joy is the highest value to the activity of our Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Dear children, you are future, tomorrow of our native Azerbaijan. Future of Azerbaijan is linked to science, education and high technologies. That is why you should study very well, possess deep knowledge.

 

You know that state pays very big attention to education in our country. 735 new schools have been built in our country for 3 years and they have been equipped with the very modern devices. Every school has modern computer class. All this are done because you will guarantee future of Azerbaijan.

 

It is biggest happiness for us - parents to see you as educated, healthy, skilful and honest person.

 

I once again congratulate all you on holidays, wish you health, luck and happiness.

 

Participants of the festival gave an ovation to the speech of Mrs Aliyeva.

 

Every child at the festival was given holiday present by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

This New Year Festival also left unforgettable feelings on children.

 

Considering cold weather and heavy snow security actions had been taken upon recommendation of First Lady of Azerbaijan Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, comfortable busses allocated to assure safe access of children to the palace.
