The collection “Eternal Signatures”, comprised of notes of works by eminent representatives of the Azerbaijani composer’s school, prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was presented in the framework of the Kharybulbul Festival held in Shusha.
The project “Eternal Signatures” has been implemented on the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. The publication was presented to the public as a present by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva on the occasion of declaring the city of Shusha as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.
Notes of works by eminent composers of Azerbaijan were for the first time published as a collection in the framework of the project. The collection contains notes of works by 6 eminent representatives of the Azerbaijani composer’s school - Asef Zeynally, Jovdat Hajiyev, Fikret Amirov, Gara Garayev, Niyazi, and Vasif Adygoezalov.
71 journals containing Works of 6 composers were printed in the framework of the Project, which started to be implemented in 2019. Moreover, the collection includes also 12 notes’ folders. These folders contain notes of solo parties for various instruments of some symphonic and chamber-instrumental works.
Among the works printed in the collection are also samples that are published for the first time. Although notes of some works had been printed in the Soviet era, most of these publications had serious errors in them. These errors were edited with participation of a professional team attracted by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the project. Notes of works were searched and found in archives of Azerbaijan and other countries, and, having conducted comparisons with manuscripts of the authors with participation of their successors, correct notes were chosen and printed anew. The collection is of importance in terms of preserving Azerbaijan’s music traditions and composers’ works, as well as their promotion to a new generation.
It is expected that notes of works by other eminent composers will also be presented within the framework of the project “Eternal Signatures”.
