Heydar Aliyev Foundation published a booklet on the Gala Archeological-Ethnographic Museum Complex

Heydar Aliyev Foundation has published a booklet on the Gala Archeological-Ethnographic Museum Complex.


The booklet provides information on Gala settlement which is located in the northeast of Absheron Peninsula, one of the most ancient habitations in Azerbaijan, and outdoor Gala Archeological-Ethnographic Museum Complex that was created in 2008 in the territory of the Gala History-Ethnography Preserve on the initiative and under leadership of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP.


Archeological and architectural monuments discovered in Absheron Peninsula have been colleted and restored in the territory of the Complex, barrows, dwelling and other architectural monuments of 3rd and 2nd millenniums B.C. have been built in keeping the original look. 


The Complex contains detailed information on everyday life, household, trades of residents from the ancient times to date.


The project will contribute to safeguarding of the historical past of Azerbaijan and changing the country into one of the tourism centers.
